This course is designed to help economic development professionals understand the role of marketing in economic development and learn the skills needed to design and implement your own marketing program. The focus of this course is to assist economic development practitioners in attracting prospective firms and assisting local businesses to expand. Many of the tools and techniques presented in this course can be used in other target markets such as tourism, business retention and workforce attraction.
This course meets the core Marketing elective for ED practitioners wishing to pursue the IEDC’s CEcD certification.
