If you’re planning to choose the Professional Pilot or Aviation Management – Flying concentration, you should apply when applications open to ensure a spot. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 50 students to submit an application AND pay the $250 enrollment deposit will be considered for admission.


Upper Division and Lower Division Requirements

The Bachelor of Science - Aviation degree program is divided into Lower Division and Upper Division requirements:

Lower division requirements:

  • General education courses that provide a foundation to the degree program.

Upper division requirements:

  • Business education
  • Aviation Education
  • Upper Division Elective
  • Free Electives
  • Aviation Elective

Degree Requirements

  • A minimum of 125 hours is needed for a Bachelor of Science - Aviation.
  • A minimum of 28 hours must be earned from the School of Aviation.
  • A minimum of 40 hours must be earned from the University of Oklahoma.
  • A minimum of 40 hours must be upper-division coursework.
  • A minimum grade point average of 2.25 is needed for graduation. 

General education requirements

  • 34 - 44 hours of coursework must be completed.
  • 10 hours foreign language
  • 3 hours Senior Capstone 
  • No more than 30 lower-division and upper-division hours can be waived with Prior Learning Assessment credit and/or extra institutional learning.

Elective requirements

Electives fulfill the remaining hours necessary for the completion of a BS degree after general education and BS major requirements have been met. Free electives may include any specialized aviation courses. A combined maximum of five hours of physical education activity courses may be used to meet degree requirements.
