The Bachelor of Science in Aviation degree program is divided into Lower Division and Upper Division requirements:

Lower Division Requirements:
  • General education courses that provide a foundation to the degree program.
Upper Division Requirements:
  • Business education
  • Aviation Education
  • Upper Division Elective
  • Free Electives
  • Aviation Elective

Degree Requirements

  • A minimum of 125 hours is needed for a Bachelor of Science in Aviation.
  • A minimum of 28 hours must be earned from the Department of Aviation.
  • A minimum of 40 hours must be earned from the University of Oklahoma.
  • A minimum of 40 hours must be upper-division coursework.
  • A minimum grade point average of 2.25 is needed for graduation. 

General Education Requirements

  • 34 - 44 hours of coursework must be completed.
  • 10 hours foreign language
  • 3 hours Senior Capstone 
  • No more than 30 lower-division and upper-division hours can be waived with advanced standing credit and/or extra institutional learning.

Elective Requirements

Electives fulfill the remaining hours necessary for the completion of a B.S. degree after general education and B.S. major requirements have been met. Free electives may include any specialized aviation courses. A combined maximum of five hours of physical education activity courses may be used to meet degree requirements.
