ACT Residual Exam

Purpose

The ACT Residual is a standardized test used to measure student readiness for entry-level college placement. The ACT Residual testing program is provided for participating colleges that wish to administer the ACT to their enrolled or admitted (or in the proves of being admitted) students who were unable to test on a national test date. The ACT Residual test dates are scheduled and administered by the Center for Independent and Distance Learning Center (CIDL) on the University of Oklahoma campus. In contrast to the National ACT test scores which are valid nationwide, ACT Residual test scores are valid only at the college administering the test.

Upon completion, exams are hand graded and students are emailed an unofficial copy 2-3 days after testing. Please expect a 6-8 week delay in score reports depending on semester time frame.

Oklahoma State Regent Policy

Students may only take the ACT Residual Exam once during the year in which the respective ACT Residual examination is valid (August 15 through September 28 the following year) and the test date shall not coincide with a national ACT test date. Scores will be cancelled and no refunds will be provided for violations of this policy.

Students may take the ACT no more than 12 times total. In addition to the Regent's policy above, a minimum of 60 days must pass before repeat residual testing. If you choose to test without sixty days elapsing, your score will be cancelled and no refund will be provided.

Students are encouraged to participate in the national ACT test dates.
