The OU MCAT Marathon™ Prep Course approach is a comprehensive and uniquely holistic approach to preparing for the MCAT exam. You will be provided with tools that enable you to engage with materials through a personal and customized approach. You will also receive guidance and strategies for your physical and mental wellness that assists in developing the discipline you'll need to deliver your best on exam day.

OU’s MCAT Marathon™ Prep Course is a key strategy for preparing for your exam!

  • It is an intensive and focused review of specific MCAT subjects.
  • It is a valuable advantage if you are diligent with your time and Study Plan!
  • It requires you to attend every class and come prepared by keeping pace with: reading, taking practice-tests and in-class exams, and participating in all material reviews. Note: Submission of test results when due is a requirement!

Please note: You do not need to be a current OU student or enrolled college student to take this course.

  • This course has 11 classes that meet from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Stretch breaks and a lunch period are
  • Generally the course runs just after winter-break during the end of January through mid-April each year.

The OU MCAT Marathon™ Prep Course is more than just a refresher course for the MCAT. It is part of a much longer process that starts in your junior year and continues through graduation. During the OU MCAT Prep Course we will provide you with resources that equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to engage the marathon that is your preparation journey. With these, you can achieve your score-based goals and maintain a well-balanced, healthy lifestyle while you prepare.

MCAT Prep

To succeed on the MCAT, there are four key strategies:

  • Mental stamina and endurance – how to mentally prepare for the test, review comprehensively, and stay physically healthy and energized for the long-run
  • Self-assessment, planning, and management of a Study Plan – understand where you are at any given point of your preparation and how to get further in areas you need to improve on
  • Learn how to take the MCAT - there is a methodology to answering questions
  • Time commitment – self-discipline sets the pace and priority of this first step of your medical career

There are many resources available to help prepare for the MCAT aside from the texts you will be working with in this prep course. Such as, you will be provided additional resources via links within class meeting reminder emails and by instructors and medical school student assistants within each class during the course.
