With more than 35 years of experience, Dr. Kimmel prossesses expertise in the areas of leadership, management, and training and development. His experience cuts across all types of organizations from public, private, non-profit companies, to governmental agencies. After retiring from the U.S. Army after 21 years of active service, Dr. Kimmel began working with the University of Okahoma holding a senior management position for nine years and now serves as the Director of Center-Based services for Public Strategies.
Dr. Kimmel’s areas of expertise include leadership theory, followership theory, and organizational development. He has taught and advised other local, state, and national agencies on leadership and management in recruitment, engagement, retention, community relations, quality control, case management, data management and workshop delivery.
Currently, David is actively engaged in healthy relationship research, teaching, and local city governance. Under his leadership, the nationally respected Family Expectations program has been part of two federal impact studies. Dr. Kimmel’s Family Expectations program is the only site in the country to show a consistent pattern of positive impacts.
David’s various high-level leadership roles enable him to comprehend and analyze program policies and procedures and their effect on both participants and research outcomes. Dr. Kimmel has a proven record of comprehending strategies that use performance data to both assess program operations and make timely and necessary corrections for improving workflow and program dynamics. David is also a certified Life Coach and Family Mediator.
