OU EXTENDED CAMPUS COVID-19 STATEMENT

As announced by University of Oklahoma President Joseph Harroz, OU is transitioning in-person classes at its Norman campus to an online format for the remainder of the spring and summer semesters, and all campus activities have been canceled through July 31.

The university has also reduced in-person operations to essential services until further notice. OU Extended Campus staff are still operating remotely, however, and can be reached via email or phone.

Regularly visit OU’s COVID-19 website for the most up-to-date information.

CLASSES AND ACADEMICS

OU Extended Campus onsite courses located at military bases throughout the United States and Europe have moved all Spring and Summer 2020 term courses online. Those that are not able to be moved online have been canceled.

All current OU Extended Campus online classes will continue as scheduled. If you were enrolled in a course that was already in an online format, nothing will be changing.

In alignment with the transition to all-online classes, the mid-March ELCP will be hosted online rather than on campus. Students will receive the same credit hours, and we will cover the same content areas as we would if we held the class on campus. The course is expected to run about the same amount of time during each of the scheduled five days (Wednesday through Sunday).

Veterans Affairs is working to implement changes to ensure students continue to receive their education benefits even if they are part of a program that has changed from resident training to online training.

There is no action required from a GI Bill student. VA has scheduled several training sessions with all VA-approved schools and training facilities over the next couple of days to provide further guidance. We will work closely with schools to ensure enrollments are accurately certified and processed timely.
