The OU Sooner Flight Academy, an aviation education program provided by the University of Oklahoma Department of Aviation and the College of Professional and Continuing Studies, still has spots open for its five-day, hands-on youth summer flight camps.
Children ages six through 18 are eligible to attend and camps are divided into ten age groups with activities and materials that are developmentally appropriate. OU’s academy instructors help campers explore and experiment as they engage in hands-on activities that demonstrate the science, technology, engineering, and math of the exciting world of flight.
The OU Sooner Flight Academy has been offering science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) aviation and aerospace programs to the youth of Oklahoma for 26 years. In addition to the annual summer camp programs, the Academy hosts School’s Out Day Camps and the Sooner Kids Science Club throughout the school year. It also provides engaging, custom-tailored field trip opportunities and classroom or school-wide visits for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
