Students, faculty and staff from the OU Extended Campus School of Aviation Studies assembled at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History on Thursday, May 2, for the 19th annual Spring Aviation Banquet.
The event celebrates the hard work of students from throughout Aviation’s programs and honors students who have excelled in their studies by earning scholarships and awards. A total of 19 scholarships and awards were presented to students, totaling $11,400 for the spring semester.
The highlight of the banquet was a keynote panel featuring Grayson Ardies, deputy director of the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission, Michelle Coppedge, director of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, James Grimsley, president and CEO of DII, Lindy Ritz, president of the Ritz Group and Mark Weber, senior research physicist at OU’s Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies.
