Project Management CAPM Prep Course
The OU PACS Project Management Program Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Prep Course allows individuals to receive certified recognition for the project management skills learned through the course and an OU Professional Development Certificate that provides all 23 Project Management education credit hours required to take the official CAPM exam through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
“Specialized knowledge isn’t required to jump on the path toward becoming a Certified Associate Project Manager, but you do need to prepare for the exam,” said Ren Freeman, the PACS Project Management Program administrator. “Regardless of how advanced your project experience or education might be, you should still consider the CAPM credential and, to receive this, you need to take the exam. Successful CAPM candidates typically use multiple study aids like our CAPM Prep Course.”
PMI's certification and credentials are distinguished by their global development and application. The strength of PMI's credentials is that they are portable and not tied to any single method, standard, or industry.

The CAPM certification offers recognition to practitioners who are starting a career in project management as well as project team members who wish to demonstrate their project management knowledge. This certification denotes that the individual possesses the knowledge required in the principles and terminology of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK(R) Guide), the standard of project management's generally recognized best practices.
Individuals who contribute specialized skills to a project team can benefit from this certification by allowing them to align their work with that of project managers. The knowledge a practitioner gains from earning the CAPM certification can be applied to on-the-job experiences which help develop growing levels of competence in the practice of project management. Individuals who carry the CAPM designation after their name enjoy a high level of credibility from PMP(R) credential holders, project managers, employers and peers.
