Earlier this month, a group of Sooner Jump Start students got a first-hand look at Oklahoma history and culture when students in Phase 2 of the international pathway program visited the State Capitol and Harn Homestead in Oklahoma City.

While at the capitol, students toured the building, viewed the Oklahoma State Art Collection, and learned about state government during a visit with Sen. Michael Brooks.

At the Harn Homestead, students learned about territorial life in Oklahoma. They toured a Victorian home, learned what is was like to live on a 19th-century farm and experienced how territorial students learned in a one-room schoolhouse.
