Nearly 500 aircraft descended on Norman earlier this month, joining adults and children who had gathered to celebrate the 2017 Max Westheimer Open House and Family Festival. The festival featured the Sooner Flight Academy’s hands-on hangar, where children could see and experience aircraft up close, aircraft displays, a Short Field Take-Off and Landing (STOL) aerial display, an exhibit hall and more. It was held in conjunction with the AOPA Regional Fly-In, an event that included two days of workshops, seminars, exhibits and displays for pilots and others in the aviation industry.
