OU Outreach is offering a series of noncredit professional development workshops and prep courses through the OU Project Management Program, with the first course starting October 25.
The Project Management Program will benefit individuals who want to understand and enhance their project management skills, learn the difference between project and program management, or are seeking to become a Project Management Institute (PMI) certified associate or professional. The series consists of four workshops, all held on OU’s Norman campus. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for each workshop and qualify for Professional Development and Project Management Institute hours. The workshops are taught by a credentialed project management professional with practical experience in bringing project teams together from diverse departments, skill levels and disciplines. The fee for each course includes all course materials.
The project management course offerings include:
Project Management Fundamentals, October 25-26
This course provides participants with an introduction to project management. Participants will learn the difference between programs and projects and discover how to improve project management techniques they might already be using in their current roles. This workshop satisfies eight PMI required education hours.
Certified Associate in Project Management Exam Prep Course (CAPM), November 21-13
This course helps participants prepare for PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam. Using materials from a PMI registered education provider, participants will learn about terminology and important processes required for the exam. This course satisfies 23 PMI required educations hours and is ideal for individuals new to project management and those who hold or are seeking mid-level project management positions.
Project Management Professional Test Prep (PMP), December 18-21
This course prepares participants to sit for the PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) exam. Among the test topics covered in the course include process groups, knowledge areas, and formulas. This course will satisfy 35 PMI required education hours and will benefit project managers from all industries and professions.
Project Leadership: Impacting Project Success, February 19, 2015
This half-day course is designed for professionals in sponsorship and leadership roles, including project managers with upcoming and ongoing projects. This course covers project sponsorship, roles of project managers and how project success can be impacted.
