Mayes Completes Prestigious Leadership Certification

Leadership is nothing new to Jennifer Mayes, Assistant to the Director of Academic Programs and adjunct instructor for CLS.

As an alumna through her business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, Mayes had the opportunity to participate in the Certified Deltasig Leader (CDL) program. The CDL program is an advanced certification that recognizes individuals for their demonstrated leadership, training and experience. This program is good for building and exhibiting leadership skills, and is helpful for growing those in leadership positions within the fraternity.

Mayes became a member of Delta Sigma Pi in 2006 and has wasted no time rising through the ranks in the time since. Currently, Mayes serves as the District Director for the Beta Epsilon chapter at the University of Oklahoma and President of the Oklahoma City Tornado Alley alumni chapter. She completed her advanced certification—the Tier 2 Certified Deltasig Leader—in September and received her accreditation in October of 2015.

As a determined person, Mayes has no intention of stopping where she is as a leader. According to Mayes, “My future aspirations are to continue learning and applying what I learn in various roles to help me be a successful leader in my personal life, work and my fraternity. I also want to help develop others as leaders, which is why I mentor younger members in the fraternity as well.”

Hats off to Jennifer Mayes! We are proud to claim her as one of our own.

Note: The College of Liberal Studies was renamed the College of Professional and Continuing Studies in 2017.
