As the 2014-2015 school year draws to a close, the University of Oklahoma will be honoring the university’s recent graduates at commencement and convocation.
Convocation for the College of Liberal Studies
The College of Liberal Studies will hold its convocation on Saturday, May 9, at 12:30 p.m. at Paul F. Sharp Concert Hall in Catlett Music Center. Doors will open at 11:45 a.m. for graduates, family and friends and the processional will begin at 12:30 p.m. Dr. Kyle Harper, Senior Vice President and Provost of the University of Oklahoma, will be the guest speaker this year. Seating is open, and free parking is available in the Elm Street Parking Garage. Photos from convocation will be available on the CLS Flickr photo stream and at Norman Party Pics.
Commencement will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 8, at the Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Stadium gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and public seating will be available on the stadium’s east side. Guests should enter through gates 1, 6, 7, 11 or 12. Seats are not assigned. Free parking is available at the Lloyd Noble Center. Complimentary CART shuttle service will run continuously from Lloyd Noble to the stadium from 5 to 11 p.m. Shuttles will drop off and pick up guests on Jenkins Avenue on the east side of the stadium at gates 7 and 11/12.
A pre-commencement concert featuring the University Chamber Ensemble directed by Dr. Richard Zelinski and the OU Wind Ensemble directed by Dr. William K. Wakefield will perform at 6:15 p.m. Commencement begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are not required to attend commencement. Commencement programs will be available to guests at each entrance ramp into the stadium seating.
