Jim’s career with OU spans more than twenty years and covers a variety of roles.
He holds a BS in Management and Ethics from Mid-America Christian University and a MA in Liberal Studies from OU. He completed doctoral work (ABD) in Education Leadership and Policy Studies at OU and an additional thirty-six hours of graduate work in Accounting and Legal Studies.
Morrison’s life work spans many industries, including oil and gas, industrial fabrics, retail, and higher education. He has worked as a controller, business manager, plant and sales manager, curriculum development coordinator, financial analyst, and business owner.
In addition, he has served as board president of an Oklahoma City charter school, president of his church’s State General Assembly and was engaged for several years as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission, Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP).
In his free time, he collects books and Scottish Highland Coos. Away from the office, he can be found on the small farm he shares with his entire immediate family, including his four grandsons.
